“India – France: establishing an Economic Partnership”
India-France relations have been on an upswing for a decade and have assumed a strategic partnership. This is characterized by a high degree of mutual trust and understanding in political matters and collaboration in defense, space, nuclear and other sectors involving Government to Government interaction.However, the economic and commercial relationship, which has to be driven by the private sector, has not been able to leverage the strong ties and the complementarities that exist between the two countries. The two-way trade and investment flows are a small percentage of the overall trade and FDI flows that the two countries have. It is time to take stock of the situation, to create awareness and to have a framework to put the economic and commercial ties on a self-sustainable path.The conference will be followed by a cocktail.
